Brett Johns Recognized As A Life Member of EHBA

4th October 2025

Brett’s journey with EHBA began as a player in the Under 10s and continued when he started his referee career in 2002 — officiating his very first game alongside our current Treasurer, Delyse Blackford.

In 2013, Brett joined the EHBA Management Committee, stepping into the role of Vice President before becoming President in 2014, a position he continues to hold in his 12th consecutive term. Over the years, Brett has led the association through significant growth and success, always with a focus on community, development, and enjoyment of the game.

Brett’s commitment to EHBA is deeply inspired by his grandmother, Shirley Wilson, also a Life Member and one of the pioneers of junior basketball in the Adelaide Hills. Continuing that legacy, Brett’s dedication embodies the spirit of service and passion that defines our association.

Receiving Life Membership alongside his mother makes this recognition even more meaningful, celebrating a family that has given so much to EHBA.

Congratulations Brett and well deserved!
